Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

In what year level should I register my students for ICAS?

You must register your student according to their year level when they sit for ICAS in September 2012.

Please remember this when you enrol in the academic year 2011/2012 (before July 2012). Since the academic year in Indonesia starts in July, Indonesian students will sit the paper from the previous year’s level.

Will students have specific books or study materials to learn from?

No. The skills being tested will reflect the appropriate level in the learning curve expected to be achieved by the student at the target age group. The question will be based on the universal curricular and co-curricular syllabi including textbooks, lab notes, projects and other sources. Should you need ICAS past papers for practice, please contact 021-300 27 095/96 or email info@utc-usg.com.

Why is it good to take an external assessment?

An external assessment removes even a faint trace of subjectivity that stems from familiarity between a teacher and their students. An external view, especially from a global body, reflects a collective and objective world view of a student’s performance. Exposing the students to international testing patterns prepares them to become global players.

What action can be planned after you have received the results?
