Free TKT Pre-testing Invitation for English and English Speaking Teachers!
Dear Teachers,
We would like to invite you to take part in TKT Pre-testing.
The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is a test from Cambridge ESOL about teaching English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers’ confidence and enhance job prospects by focusing on the core teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners, anywhe re in the world.
Pre-testing is an excellent way to help prepare for the real test. It also helps candidates get some idea of their readiness to take the live exam, although of course the scores from pretests do not guarantee how candidates will do on the day of the exam. Like the live TKT, pretests can be taken by teaching students, prospective teachers or existing teachers.
TKT pretests consist of tasks that focus on a single module only. This means that candidates intending to take only one module of TKT can take a pretest focusing solely on the module they are preparing for. Alternatively, candidates taking only one module can take TKT pretests for any other TKT modules as this can provide tangible benefits such as further exposure to the task types involved in TKT and can offer an opportunity to reflect further on the range of concepts related to language, language use and the background to and practice of language teaching and learning covered by TKT as a whole. For candidates intending to take more than one module of TKT we suggest that they take a pretest for each of the modules they are preparing for.
TKT pretests consist of a single test paper of approximately 80 items, along with a short test called an ‘anchor test’. The anchor test contains TKT items with known performance statistics, which we use to help analyze the pretest material.
Should you interested to take part in the TKT pre-test, please pretest-registration-form and send it by fax to (021) 300 27 970 or email to: info@utc-usg.com and elta.dessyembra@utc.usg.com at the latest on 10 November 2011.
